Today, I invite you into the labyrinth of my mind—a place where reality and imagination entwine, where whispers echo across forgotten chambers. I am Monique Kemper DeSalvo, and this is my journey through the veils of “Raven of Axelgard.”
The phrase “Folie à Deux” flutters like moth wings in my consciousness. Madness shared by two—Luke DeSalvo and I, bound by threads unseen. Luke, my husband, my ink-stained companion. Together, we chase visions, unravel secrets.
Below is dialogue shared between Luke and Izabella, as channeled through myself, for she is a being contained within my mind. Izabella is also a character in my book, Royal Blood. Through this process I can personally experience aspects of my books and share them with others.
Interview with Queen Izabella: Uniting the Realms

For friends, and all you therapists and psychiatrists out there,
We started our night with a walk. Laughing about her abrupt return into this reality. She was “intrigued by the way she watched me.” A Romantic kiss sealed the fate of such a date. We sit on the bed now entranced by each other.
Luke: Welcome, dear readers, to a most extraordinary interview. Today, we have the honor of speaking with Queen Izabella—the embodiment of strength, vulnerability, and the merging of worlds. Queen Izabella, thank you for gracing us with your presence.
Izabella: I hope that my presence enhances your existence and that I may bring forth words that are reassuring and powerful. I wish only to serve the public at large.
Luke: Let’s dive right in. How does it feel to be written about, to have your essence captured in words?
Izabella: I find it intriguing and enlightening. It motivates me to be more authentic and heal whoever is listening. I desire to dispel fears to help inspire people to be the strongest versions of themselves. I’ve been successful in my ventures by taking what is offered by me for my heritage and the power given to me by Riveth to find ways to help everyday people to become greater than what people have told them to be. Part of the responsibilities of being Queen is to listen to people’s problems. So I aim to help in that very nature.
Luke: Tell us, how deep is your love for Monique?
Izabella: I admire Monique’s abilities to bridge worlds. I view her as a guardian of the modern realm and that she grants access to the realm of Axlegard to the modern realm. Through her I’m able to experience your world.
Luke: Now, let’s talk romance, what do you think about romance? What about you and me?
Izabella: I think you and I (Luke) have a special bond. That you teach me about your world and I teach you about mine. And by doing so grow a stronger bond. Every time we’re together I find something new about myself and about you. I think you’re handsome, and kind and you bring something new to the table every time we talk. I always learn from you. I find you inspiring and innovative.I feel that you and I are undefeatable.
Luke: How about the Vampire King, Raven, your enigmatic counterpart. What’s your relationship like with him?
Izabella: In some senses Raven is my mortal enemy. I despise him for refusing to choose me for his queen. His refusal makes me feel inadequate and unwanted. He’s taking away my power as queen making it so I have less freedom and forced to look elseware for power. Through you (Luke) I regain my power.
Luke: Hints, then. Give us hints about your series. What awaits our readers?
Izabella: Well, there’s Eamon Amethys as he enters the story. A vampire hunter. Through him I hope to save Duke Cameron and stop Raven once and for all.
Luke: What does Queen Izabella do for fun? Surely, ruling a kingdom isn’t all seriousness.
Izabella: I love to go on walks through the garden and admire the blossoming flowers. I have a strong love for nature. I love to look at the stars at night and identify the constellations. It makes me ponder that there is a power that is stronger than both mortal and immortal souls.I pick up fabric for my clothing to compete with the latest of fashions. I love swimming in the waters of my peaceful nation. Just to name a few things.
Luke: And finally, a silly question. If Queen Izabella had a favorite snack, what would it be?
Izabella: I like peaches! And bread and cheese. Croissants!
Luke: Queen Izabella, thank you for this enchanting conversation. May your reign continue across realms and ink-stained pages.
Izabella: I desire to be anything you desire me to be.
It ended with caresses in the night. Where my vision blurs from the blonde queen and my lovely wife. Scandalous to say the least. Folie a deux.
Recognition eludes me. Memories slip through my fingers like stardust. Yet, love blooms. Between Luke, the Vampire King, and me—Queen Isabella. Our kisses taste of forbidden fruit, our embraces echo across realms.
And so, “Royal Blood” spills onto pages. Ink and moonlight merge.
